The Grace Fueled Wife: Marriage Advice | Emotional Intimacy | Communication & Conflict Resolution

Are you sitting in a marriage that feels empty? Struggling to connect with your husband or wondering why communication in your marriage feels so hard? Maybe you feel lonely in your marriage even though you’re still living under the same roof.

Maybe you’re telling yourself you’re just sticking it out for the kids… and what really keeps you in the marriage is your commitment to God.

If this is you, I’ve been there. And I want to help you reconnect in your marriage, rebuild emotional intimacy, and feel cherished again.

Hey, I’m Beatriz Vargas — a Christian marriage coach, Jesus-loving wife, and mom. I’ve been married for over 15 years, but for the first five years of our marriage we struggled with constant conflict, poor communication, and emotional disconnection.

I was busy telling my husband all the things he was doing wrong — what he needed to change, how he needed Jesus, and what he needed to do to make me happy.

We tried marriage counseling, small groups, and all the things we were told would fix our marriage. Nothing worked… and eventually we separated.

But learning how communication, emotional safety, and grace actually work inside a marriage changed everything.

Today, my husband and I have the affectionate, emotionally connected marriage I once thought was impossible.

On The Grace Fueled Wife Podcast, you’ll learn how to:

• communicate more effectively with your husband
• break unhealthy conflict cycles in marriage
• rebuild emotional intimacy and connection
• stop feeling lonely in your marriage
• navigate difficult conversations with grace
• strengthen your Christian marriage even when your husband isn’t changing

If you feel like you’re the only one trying to save your marriage… if you’re tired of having the same arguments over and over… or if you’re longing to feel close again, this podcast will help you understand what’s really happening beneath the surface.

Each week we talk about communication in marriage, conflict resolution, emotional intimacy, and how faith and grace can help restore connection in even the most difficult seasons of marriage.

So grab your journal, take a deep breath, and let’s start creating the connected, grace-fueled marriage you’ve been praying for.

Wives, I see you out there - trying as best you can to hold the family together. Trying to maintain an image of a respectable family - which you have, except that your husband shows up much less than you let on. I see you, making excuses for him when he doesn’t show up to church, a family event, or an invitation to a friends house. I see you. searching for community, trying, what it seems like - all on your own to build a stronger faith foundation in your home.

I see you mama, trying to keep it quiet because you don’t wan’t anyone thinking bad about your husband. He is a good man. He loves you. He loves your kids. You just wish he would show up in more new areas - like  pray for the family, lead the family, show the loving soft heart of Jesus towards others.
You want to show love and grace to your husband, despite feeling frustrated, hurt and disappointed. My story is your story. From being abandoned by my husband for my faith to reconciling and leading ministry together, to making excuses again, I have been there. The most important thing I’ve learned is this:

Being a grace fueled wife means a commitment to continue working on the marriage EVEN IF he isn’t showing up. It means being in constant prayer for your husband and surrendering the final outcome of your marriage to God.

But when happens when you’re tired? You’re tired of taking care of everything around the house. You just wish your husband would help you out more but don’t know how to ask, or don’t want to nag him yet again.

Here are three things you can do to empower your husband to take care of you! This will leave you feeling more supported and less resentful!

Have you ever argued or tried to have a rational discussion with your husband only to have him respond with something like:
“That’s your issue, not mine”
“I can’t control what you think”
“You’re being so dramatic”
“What about when you did…”
This is so frustrating!!! If your husband often responds to you using statements such as this or  If your husband refuses to take accountability or responsibility for his wrongs and even worse tries to turn it around to you he is using deflection as his defense mechanism.
While deflection is a symptom of some emotional immaturity and in some cases can be a symptom of a greater issue (i.e. narcissism) there is hope! This episode will give you some tools to cope and overcome deflective behavior.

In this episode, I quickly give you some of the information we learn in the Grace Fueled Marriage Method where we investigate conflict resolution strategy and discover how to communicate our interest - or reasons for feeling a certain way rather than our position on how we feel. Think about what would happen if politicians discussed issues vs. arguing to defend their stance on them. This strategy will open the doors to communication while avoiding your husband’s defensive reactions.
